WORKSHOP 1 – FROM SURVIVING TO THRIVING WITH ADOLESCENTS
Using a mix of research, professional, family and wider-life information and interactions, this half-day workshop explores the following topics:
• Understanding cognitive, emotional and social changes: from early to late- adolescence
• Increasing protective factors: sleep, nutrition, physical exercise, values, sense of belonging and self-worth, values
• Navigating challenges and pressures: peers, digital/screen world, female/male stereotyping, school, conflicting demands…
• Potential strategies and skills: sense of worth and connectedness, four pillars of health, social skills…
WORKSHOP 2 – HELPING STAFF FLOURISH
Using a combination of research and professional practice, this half-day workshop explores the following topics:
• Understanding staff: identity, motivations, adult learning, personalities
• Navigating change: theories of change, effects of change on people (why people some resist/derail change and others run with it), optimising change processes
• Enabling people to flourish: recognising, respecting and appreciating differences; creating cultures and teams for ongoing improvement
