Elizabeth House, the Sacred Heart Girls’ College New Plymouth boarding hostel, is a five day a week, term time only, boarding facility, that has capacity for 84 weekly boarders across Years 9-13 and is a comfortable and friendly home away from home for the residents. The property is managed by our Proprietor, the Mission College New Plymouth Trust Board, with the hostel sharing the college’s attractive park-like grounds alongside the Mission Rest Home, and is within easy walking distance of the seaside village, Fitzroy, New Plymouth.

The successful applicant will lead the team of Hostel Matrons, manage the day-to-day running of Elizabeth House and report directly to the college Principal on all matters. Together, the Principal and the Hostel Manager report monthly to the Elizabeth House Hostel Management Board.

Our new Elizabeth House Hostel Manager will have proven experience in positively leading others and have a strong affinity with young people. They will have highly developed communication skills and be an effective manager and administrator. A relational approach to student management is an expectation, along with practical application of restorative practices. The Hostel Manager will demonstrate a willingness to embrace and nourish our special Catholic character.
